Momtrends: What are some fun party dress ideas for holiday or moms?
Dress Your Guests:Choose an item that has texture to it and feels more luxurious than your typical pieces. Some great options are lace, brocade, sequins or velvet. If you are attending a more formal event chose a simple dress in one of these fabrics but tone down the rest of your accessories to compliment your lux piece.
If it’s a more casual party pair an embellished top with dark skinny jeans and fabulous heels. Not sure, of the dress code you can always rely on the classic tuxedo jacket paired with skinny black pants, pointed toe pumps and great earrings.
Momtrends: What are some accessories that complete a look for the holidays?
a. One option is a great jacket with added interest. We love a sequin topper, which is perfect to throw on over any basic ensemble to take it from boring to bold.
b. Hair embellishments are becoming popular. You can do a jeweled headband or add polish to a topknot by adding a beaded hair comb.
c. We always love a great earring. It draws attention to the face and can often add the extra element to complete an outfit. Don’t be afraid to choose an extra glittery style for the holiday fete you are attending.
d. Of course, a fabulous shoe! There are so many options right now. Whether it be a lace up bootie or patterned high heel there are plenty of options to add extra detail to your outfit. If you are pregnant and don’t feel comfortable in high heels choose an embellished flat that adds some extra glitz to your ensemble. Stuart Weitzman also makes a great and extra comfortable over the knee boot, which comes in multiple widths and colors. Perfect to wear with leggings and a longer top.

a. Find out what silhouette you feel most confident and comfortable in. If it’s tight and to the body invest in a great body con dress that has ruching on the side. If you prefer a looser silhouette look for empire waistlines where the fabric grazes over the belly. Not feeling a dress. Wear a glittery top and skinny black pants. J.Crew just launched their Pixie and Minnie pant in maternity and they are fab! Overall, make sure you feel happy and confident in an outfit and that will help you look your absolute best.
b. Go for bold accessories. Long drop earrings will help draw attention to the collarbone and elongate the face. Longer necklaces will also help create the illusion of a longer leaner silhouette. Longer scarves are another great way to elongate the silhouette while adding a dose of color or pattern to your outfit. Choose a clutch that is bigger and brighter. Compliment your bigger (but beautiful) silhouette with bigger accessories.
c. In a rush and don’t have time to put together an ensemble, highly likely to happen around the holidays. Choose a classic black shift and layer on necklaces. Baublebar.com offers tutorials on how to layer multiple necklaces to look extra chic. JCrew also offers great cocktail jewelry and necklaces that can be layered together.
d. Color is your friend. If you don’t know what colors flatter your skintone, try figuring it out. Blue/Pink undertones = Cool and Yellow undertones = Warm. Choosing the right colors, cool or warm will help emphasize your pregnancy “glow”.
e. Not feeling the “glow” fake it by using a skin illuminator with a touch of shimmer and apply on your cheekbones.
