As part of the launch our style editor, Kristin had the chance to interview Rosie and learn more about the line.

Momtrends: What made you make the move from designing maternity wear to children's wear as well?

Rosie Pope: It has been an amazing privilege to work with pregnant women since 2008 across both fashion and education and it has been a long time dream if mine to stay with parents on their journey into Parenting and baby clothes allow me to do so. Now having four kids of my own I felt it was the right time to use all my knowledge as a designer and as a mother to create the collection.

Momtrends: Did your own children inspire the line?

Rosie Pope: Absolutely. Both their fashion preferences which start amazingly early (let's just say it's only in my dreams they let me dress them in tweed and seersucker!), their creativity and their (and my) need for practicality.

Momtrends: What features were important to you when you were designing the line?

Rosie Pope: Ease of dressing (no pearl buttons to do up on a bodysuit in the middle if the night!), level of comfort and creativity. Clothes can inspire and excite kids just as much as adults.

Momtrends: What are some of your favorite spring trends?

Rosie Pope: I love the classic timeless trends that are back: nautical and stripes, pastels, print mixing, and florals for both boys and girls. They are very wearable and not likely to go out for next summer when your younger one will be rocking the same outfits! Plus ample room for some mom and baby inspired matching outfits!

Momtrends: Do you find yourself paying attention to the latest trends when you're dressing your kids?

Rosie Pope: Yes and no. It's important to me that they love what they are wearing. If they are uncomfortable it affects how they feel that day and I can relate to that so I pay attention to the trends as long as it makes sense for them. For example, if brights are trending then I choose the brights in their favorite color of the moment.

Momtrends: Can you pick a favorite look from your line?

Rosie Pope: Anything in the Anchors away print for boys (check out the easy to wear Jon Jon) and the secret garden skirt with the gorgeous/genius stripe t for girls.
