I feel so lucky to be a work from home mom. I'm able to work around my kiddos' schedules and that flexibility allows me time to plan fun activities for us like play dates. While my son loves going to pre-school, it's great to be able to get him together with some of his other little friends outside of school too. And the lil' lady bean has a fabulous time squealing with her baby buds!
Now that I've become an old hat at play dates, I've found that there are certain things that definitely add to the fun. Comfy clothes are at the top of the list! I've made the mistake of decking out my daughter in darling dresses that weren't exactly conducive to crawling. You'd think I was a rookie. Haha! I just get so darn excited about dressing her up! Now that she's full on walking, I'm especially mindful of what she wears to play dates. I'm loving what Miki Miette and Little Trendstar have to offer. Cute clothes that kids can actually play in!
Another issue that we have at play dates are keeping the toddlers from drinking from each other's sippy cups. That's why Kidaroo Crew sippy cup labels are genius! And my best friend swears by them for daycare too! Along with a sippy, I always like to have snacks on hand. How awesome is at that Odwalla makes Bars for Kids?!? They're convenient and nutritious. You can't beat that!
Sometimes my mama friends and I have play dates at our respective homes, but we like to get out of the house too. My cherubs always seem to be happier when we're on the move! If we do stay in, however, I make sure to have fun activities and crafts available to keep them busy.Crayola has some cool products that would be perfect to add to my play date stock! Bubbles and chalk are always hits no? If we do head outside, my 2 Red Hens Toy Nanny is often at my side. It functions as both a play mat and a toy catch all. Such a smart product!
So, what are some of your play date must haves lovelies?
