With the colder weather comes the shift towards more indoor activities. With all of us at home, though, the kids can get bored where we love to turn to creative crafting kits. One of our favorites is Kiwi Crate, a monthly subscription crafting service where you can explore different themed for your kids.
Designed for ages 3-7, Kiwi Crate is a fantastic way for kids to connect to various arts, crafts and science projects that are developed by parents and reviewed by child development experts and tested by kids. This includes projects that are created around themes like Gardens, Space or Colors, and designed to encourage creativity, exploration and discovery.
Recently, they have expanded their line to offer three new kits - Tinker Crate, Doodle Crate and Koala Crate. Offering projects for older kids (ages 9-14+), Tinker Crate is a fantastic way for kids to do a hands-on project focused on STEM-based projects to promote creative problem-solving skills and inquiry-based learning.
Another box for older kids (ages 9-16+) is the Doodle Crate that introduces young makers to new materials and interesting techniques through hands-on crafts that support self-expression. My daughters recently tested out this fun box where they were able to make geometric canvas pouches using paint and tape to create cool pencil cases for school. We loved working together to create this fun and unique project.
They also launched the Koala Crate (designed for ages 3-4), a kit that is designed to bring developmentally appropriate, enriching projects for parents to explore with their preschoolers. Launched in partnership with Highlights for Children, the Koala Crate's are designed to enrich, inspire, and enhance creativity in young minds.
Featuring high quality materials and age-apprioriate kits, we love the expanded Kiwi Crate line as a fun and engaging way to inspire our indoor play this winter.
