How to Convert Your Nursery With Davinci Baby Furniture
Our youngest child is three and although she's still young (and will always be our baby), she's changing and growing up more and more every day. We decided to officially move her out of the nursery, and move her into a "big girl" bed. The girls were so excited about a room make-over, they decided to share a room (double yay, as this means we get our office back!) No one wants to purchase furniture for a nursery and then have to start the process all over again when your little grows up. We are showing you how your
Davinci Baby furniture can take you through all of the stages of your child's bedroom needs.
We had a bit of a challenge in front of us, as we wanted the room to be cozy for our 3 year old and equally appealing for our 7 year old. After some minor cosmetic updates, and the big decision of color scheme, we transformed our guest room into a space that offers both a soothing place to rest and a sunny play space that meets both of our girls' needs. To make the most of the wall space, I had a woodworker build a tall and narrow bookshelf right into the closet wall.
(I was so happy with the result, that I am having bookshelves built into every nook and cranny in my house!) The girls wanted a turquoise/aqua room, so we decided on white furniture, we stripped and painted a set of bunk beds in Jamaican Aqua (Benjamin Moore) and then toned down Barely Teal (Benjamin Moore) for a coordinating wall color.
The effect was just what we were seeking. The bright white Davinci Baby furniture looks neat, classic and elegant against the blues.
We choose the signature six drawer double dresser for my younger daughter, as well as the four drawer Tall Dresser for my older daughter.
The Double Drawer Dresser would have been ideal as a changing station. With the addition of the removable changing tray and contour pad, you could change baby and have everything you need right at your finger tips. When baby's is out of diapers, simply remove the added parts and Viola you have your Double Dresser ready to display your little one's favs.
The signature dressers come with large drawers that are ample enough for all of their clothes and the metal drawer glides makes them a breeze to close. (Don't worry mamas, they have stop mechanisms on the drawers for added safety, plus the paint is lead and phthalate free).
Having a place for everything was a priority and we wanted the girls to have a place to show off their individual styles (this was obviously most important for our older daughter) as well as keep their room tidy and neat.
I love the MDB Bookcase, with its two stationary shelves and three floating shelves, I could position the shelves as I needed to suit their belongings. The added bonus of the bottom drawer is the perfect place to stash their loose items, hide clutter or protect their prize positions from their siblings' hands.
The gentle curves and classic look is timeless, coordinates with any style and the perfect place for books, keepsakes and toys. The MDB Bookcase is available in four rich and traditional finishes. Its versatile style complements a range of nursery decor.
DaVinci Baby offers many styles (in various finishes) of bedroom decor to take your child to nursery and beyond.
