Fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life. —Bill Cunningham.
As a WAHM to three littles, life is all at once hectic and scheduled. It's a mix of organized chaos and pure joy. I use my style to express all the parts of who I am, and also to remind me not to take myself too seriously. I like to note what's on-trend, but am always mindful not to be too trendy. To some this seems like semantics, but to me, you have to wear what works for your style, your inner fashionista. This time around it was easy to get on trend with JCPenney.
When I stepped into JCPenney to shop the trends, I was pleasantly surprised at the choices that were before me; and would you believe so many of the trends were available for less than $20!? At prices like that, every mama can afford to feel fashionable and on-trend, and to rock her own style. Busy mamas will find it easy peasy to get on trend with JCPenney.
I was immediately drawn to all things Libby Edelman as I have always loved her aesthetic and attention to the little details. This Patchwork Dress is so comfortable to wear; it can be dressed up or down and pairs easily with booties--heeled or not. Can we talk a minute about these booties? I love a good high heel. These booties by n by Nicole Miller are surprisingly easy to walk in and give killer style to this dress. I was super impressed with this find!
JCPenney partnered with Brit+Co to host a JCPenney fashion preview event in NYC. Event host Ali Fedotowsky shared the highlighted trends of the season.

Fall trends include velvet, denim details, romance, fashion sweatshirts, the new green, modern outer-layers, booties, and a huge focus on sleeves, sleeves and sleeves. In one little dress, I was able to hit three trends...romance, the new green and the sleeve detail, how's that for fashion value?
For my second look, I went for the romantic style once again with a nearly sheer white Libby Edelman blouse with beautiful sleeve detail, a gorgeous leopard print blazer also from Libby Edelman and distressed jeans with a velvet detail from a.n.a. I topped off the look with a cranberry bag from Liz Claiborne and cross-stitch booties from a.n.a. The look will take me from-day-to-night easily and is perfect for meetings, outings with the kids, brunch with the girls, or date night with the hubs. Another score from JCPenney.
