I don't know how your hair is come springtime lovelies, but just like my skin, my tresses are on the dry side. After a winter of sleek styles and dry weather, my hair could definitely use some TLC. Luckily, there are a slew of products that can help us get our manes ready for spring...and, in particular, ready to rock gorgeous curls and waves like Kate Holmes, co-owner of Alterna, has been seen sporting lately.
If dry, coarse hair is your issue, you could try out a moisturizing oil like Skin Authority's Oil Nutrient for Face, Hair and Nails. What I love about this product is that it's a great multi-tasker, which I'm sure most busy mamas can appreciate. You can use it on your dehydrated skin and nails, as well as your hair.
If you're looking to repair damaged hair, Alterna's Overnight Hair Rescue can help soothe and smooth your tresses, so you'll have a healthy looking mane with which you can create spring's laid back curls and of the moment mermaid waves.
If you have a bit of time, use a large barrel curling iron to create loose curls, then finger comb them into relaxed curls and luscious waves. On a side note, a great tip that a stylist gave me is to make sure you curl the hair around your face away from your face. The curls will be so much more flattering.
If you don't want to go the tool route, try using products made specifically to help you recreate the summery beachy waves playing in the ocean can give you. Alterna's Beach Bambo Beach Ocean Waves, for example, is a texturizing spray that can help you achieve tousled waves while protecting your hair from the sun at the same time.
So, who's ready to try their hand at laid back curls and waves?
