Being a work-at-home mom has been incredible for me to being close to my kids while still feeding my passion. It also means that I am often juggling my time between my home responsibilities and my work responsibilities. To help me out, I have been tackling the dishes, laundry and housework in style, well, as stylish as those tasks are. Here are some of my favorite products that make those chores easier.
1. Martha Stewart Living: Not a product per say, I do find inspiration from traditional magazines where I love to cut out ideas that I want to try. This month, I have been loving the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living that is dedicated to ways to organize your home. This includes 61 decorating ideas as well as back-to-school beauty tips and creative cheese plates to enjoy with the family.
2. Houzz: Another tool that I have been using is Houzz, the leading home remodeling and design platform that features 1.9 million images of professionally-designed interiors and exteriors for inspiration, a community of more than 15 million unique monthly visitors for crowdsourcing ideas and advice, and connections with more than 250,000 home remodeling and design professionals to help homeowners get their project done. I have been making over my home office and have been loving combing through their home office imagery that has been giving me ideas to stay organized and make changes. They also have an interesting and interactive Houzz Real Cost Finder that empowers homeowners with real cost data to help them make informed decisions about their building, remodeling and design projects.
3. IronMaven: Whether I have my daughter's uniform or a dress to a work event, I have to make sure our clothes are wrinkle-free. My favorite new product that steams and irons is the innovative Iron Maven from Reliable. This system works by providing a crisp and professional finish to garments as it softens the fibers in clothes as the weight of the iron then shapes the fabric. It is also really easy-to-use and features a removable iron rest, a low water indicator an a dual function safety and fill cap to make ironing a breeze.
4.Steel Frame Dishrack with Wine Glass Holder: We don't have a dishwasher so hand washing it is and to dry our dishes I have been loving the cool steel frame dishrack with wine glass holder from Simple Human. Featuring compartments for silverware, plates, and cups, I love how this stainless model contains a fingerprint-proof coating that helps protect against smudges. It also includes a wine drying rack that can dry up to 4 glasses and a natural bamboo knife block is gentle on sharp blades. My favorite feature, though is the innovative drainage system that pivots to keep water flowing directly into the sink, not onto the countertop.
