Birthday Party Ideas

This time of year means a lot of birthday parties including my daughter who is turning the big 6! With so many parties, I wanted to highlight some of my favorite gift ideas that can be used at any time of the year. Here are a few of my current favorites.

Younger Kids (Boys and Girls):

B. toys: We love their fun assortment of amazing products that kids of all ages will love as birthday presents. Some of our favorites include the Magnetic Alphabetic, Baa-Baa Barn, Alpha B. Tical, the fun Wee MD doctor kit and much more!

Cate and Levi: We love this collection of toys and accessories that are intricately crafted, environmentally friendly and handmade in the Toronto studio. Each item is one-of-a-kind, made from reclaimed wool with colors and textures that are individually selected. Some of our favorites include the cute puppets and the super snuggly stuffed animals.

Plan Toys: We love this sustainable wooden toy company with some of our favorites being the Bio Scoot, Fruit and Vegetable Kit and much more!

For Older Girls:

Our Generation: We love Our Generation and their beautiful dolls that give back to Free the Children. They recently expanded their collection to include two new wonderful, unique craft sets for creating fun matching accessories for little girls and their dolls, as well as 6 new matching outfits. This includes the Me & You Tutu Set (complete with ribbons, pom poms, rhinestones, and everything needed to create matching tutus), the Me & You Jewelery Set (comes with ribbons, thread, wooden bracelets, and an instruction sheet for creating matching bracelets) and the fun Me & You Outfit Sets (features 6 different styles beautiful matching outfits for girls & their dolls).

Kiss Natural’s DIY Soap Making KitThis safe and easy to use DIY kit is the perfect activity to keep even the tiniest hands busy – and clean! Packaged with everything needed to make pure sulfate-free, glycerine soaps. Simply melt a bar of glycerine soap, add oils to create the perfect scent, pour into the heart-shaped mold—and voila, in one hour soaps will be ready to use. Large kit with 16 soaps priced at $14.95; mini-kit for four soaps priced at $9.95.

Glow Pets: We love these fun light-up pets that also transforms into a soft, comfy 15-inch pillow. By simply pressing the button on the pet’s paw, it will become a comforting glowing light that helps kids drift off to sleep. Each pet has special LED lights inside that create a glow without producing heat, and the built-in timer automatically shuts the light off after 20 minutes. Kids can choose from 10 different furry friends, including Shimmering Seal, Sparkling Unicorn, Brilliant Pup and Flashy Penguin.

For Older Boys:

Teenage Mutant Turtles: Boys will love some turtle power, and our favorites are the LEGO Ninja Turtles Stealth Shell in Pursuit and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ninja Combat Gear.
iHome: Mavel fans will also love the Rechargeable Character Speakers that combine the best of audio technology with fun character styling for Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. For some peace and quiet, they also have some cool Over-the-Ear Headphones.

Boys or Girls:

Classic Board Games: We are a big fan of classic board games, and for birthdays we suggest some favorites from Hasbro including The Game of Life, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Monopoly, Battleship and much more!
