This past weekend I enjoyed my first taste of winter during a press trip in Geneva, NY. Since it was a semi-casual event I was excited that I could dress comfortably and still add some fashion with my new Carlos Santana Brooky booties from Famous Footwear. I love how these cute taupe shoes can go with everything from jeans to dresses - making them a versitile shoe for the winter.

I also love fun suede upper that featured a round toe and great detailing as well as a super comfy cushioned footbed that made them easy to wear throughout the day. Other favorites for winter include the Fergalicious bootie and the Pink and Pepper for looks that are both casual and fashionable.

During this particular event I paired the booties with the vibrant red Beachcomber skirt from the online vintage store, Shabby Apple. I still like color in winter, and this free-flowing skirt paired really nice with a Boden sweater and the suede booties. I also loved how the skirt has two pockets and how loose it -making it ideal to wear in the fall and the winter. Shabby Apple also has a cute collection of pants, jackets, dresses and tops for holiday and winter with some of our favorites being the Too Darn Hot and the Sugar on Top Blouse.

For a look that is style and fashionable, booties and skirts are a great way to stay comfortable and still have a fashionable edge.

Also, if you are in NYC be sure to check out their newest store opening. To celebrate the opening, they will be hosting a grand opening event on December 14, which will include drawings for shoppers to win complimentary pairs of shoes and a Shoe Crazy shopping spree where one lucky winner will get 30 seconds to run through the aisles and grab as many free pairs of shoes as possible!
