With Earth Day just a few days away we wanted to highlight some creative and educational toys that don't involve any bells or whistles. From updated blocks to environment kits, we found some our favorites to enjoy that spark young imaginations, instill a sense of wonder and foster a lifelong love of learning.
Wood Blocks from Wee Society: Wee Society (check out our past review of their prints here) recently launched a set of vibrant and colorful set of heirloom wood blocks. Made with replenishable basswood, printed with non-toxic inks and made in Michigan (go USA), the blocks are a great no-battery toy where kids can create and built the quirky Wee Society characters. Co-Founder, Wee Society noted, We created an heirloom set that would inspire that kind of creativity. Solve a silly face puzzle. Stack and re-stack a bunch of characters. Think of something awesome and build it. And it all looks pretty good sitting on your coffee table. Check out the complete collection here.
Learn to Recycle! Activity Kit: With a focus of recycling, kids can learn to reduce and practice storting. This also includes 6 different recycling bins each come with 8 sturdy chipboard tiles showing items that can be recycled.
Earth & Environment Theme Box: We had the chance to test this out, and my daughter and I really enjoyed the focus of recycling as she was able to learn to reduce and practice storting. She also enjoyed the numerous activities from art to math to dramatic play as she explored and better understood the natural world.
Music from Plan Toys: For over 30 years, PlanToys® has been recycling the wood from expired rubber wood trees to create beautiful wooden toys that inspire childrens imaginations and promote a commitment to sustainable play for generations to come.
For toys, you can discover a Musical Band, Xylophone, Clatters, Fish Casanets and Solid Drum for hours of musical play.
