In just a couple weeks, the Easter Bunny will be hopping into town. Rather than loading up on cheap drugstore decor, I prefer to search out Easter heirlooms: Items that can be brought out each year to make the holiday special. To get into the spirit of this first spring holiday, I'm snapping up a few goodies from Pottery Barn Kids.

My first pick is a festive Easter basket. Pick from blue or pink, these adorable canvas baskets are trimmed with cheery ribbon and lined with bright fabric. Ideal for egg hunting or filling with Easter loot, these baskets are definitely cute enough to leave out all year round. There's still time to order a personalized canvas basket from Pottery Barn Kids. On sale for $11.99

To brighten up our all-white nursery, I'm adding the Ribbon Egg Wreath to baby's room. The 18" wreath is features colored eggs wrapped with pastel ribbons. The colors can work with just about any room. ($49)

If your need a special little outfit for spring, I can also recommend PB's new kid's store called Threads. The concept is that many of the items can (and should) be personalized. They've got a embroidering machine on the premises ready to go--initial just about any baby item: diaper bags, burp cloths, onesies, hats, pajamas, etc. Right now there are just two shops. I stopped in the Manhattan store a few weeks ago (the other shop is in Bellevue, Wash)--for everyone else check out the online offerings. Threads offers a nice assortment of classic clothing for preppy kids...seersucker overalls perhaps? ($38)
