Just in time for holiday giving, Pleygo, the “Netflix-like” subscription service that allows families to rent LEGO® sets, has joined forces withGeneration Rescue, a national non-profit organization providing immediate treatment assistance, information and hope to families affected by autism, to “build” much-needed awareness and funds through the world of LEGO.

The “Pleygo LEGO Holiday Brick Drive for Generation Rescue,” running now through January 2014, will collect LEGO bricks to stock Generation Rescue-affiliated doctors’ offices and medical facilities. In addition, the campaign will raise funds for ASD research through online donations and monetary proceeds collected from Pleygo sales and donations made during the campaign period. Pleygo and Generation Rescue will announce the total dollars raised as well as the total weight of LEGO donations on December 13th, 2013.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Generation Rescue for the first-ever Pleygo LEGO Holiday Brick Drive," said Elina Furman, co-founder of Pleygo. “We are impressed by the work Generation Rescue has done towards funding innovative Autism research and helping to improve the quality of life for children with ASD. Pleygo is proud to support Generation Rescue's efforts and we hope that the annual Holiday Brick Drive becomes a long standing tradition that will bring much need resources and attention to this worthy cause."

Inspired by the significant role that LEGO plays in the ASD community for enhancing play therapy and helping with social interaction and development, during the remainder of November and throughout December, Pleygo is encouraging families to join the drive by filling out the donation registration at Everyone who donates LEGO bricks will receive a one-month Pleygo Super Fan subscription (worth $25.00), which delivers small, medium and large LEGO sets to subscribers. The collected bricks will be fully sanitized and shipped to facilities in partnership with Generation Rescue for therapeutic play use for children.
