Momtrends attended a very intimate luncheon celebrating the launch of the American Lung Association's newest initiative called LUNG FORCE . Kelli Pickler hosted the event and sang a few songs for the small crowd. She will be one of the spokespersons for this movement. She shared her story with the audience on how her grandmother was affected by this disease and is determined to promote awareness.
LUNG FORCE is a new national movement led by the American Lung Association to unite women against the #1 cancer killer of women: lung cancer. The American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE movement is nationally presented by CVS Caremark. LUNG FORCE has three priorities: make lung cancer a cause that people care about and act on, educate and empower patients and healthcare providers, and raise critical funds for lung cancer research.
Did you know that every 8 minutes, a woman in the US dies of lung cancer. On average, less than half of all women diagnosed with lung cancer will be alive one year later. Although lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer of women, only 1% of women named lung cancer as a cancer that is top-of-mind for them. Many women think of lung cancer as solely a smoker’s disease but 68 percent of those who have never smoked.
The American Lung Association is asking Americans to raise their voices in the fight against lung cancer and for lung health. Visit www.LUNGFORCE.organd learn about ways to get involved by donating, walking, sharing and connecting.

Momtrends attended the GAP Fall 2014 preview last week, and I have to say I am completely blown away. Gap has officially taken their fashion to the next level and I promise you will not be disappointed!
The fall collection will be hitting stores in September. The womens collection was very authentic with focus on denim, washed and printed cords, a-line cord skirts, and the boyfriend shirt. Most of the denim is in a range of black and gray with chic detailing throughout. The prints have a masculine edge mixed with traditional plaids. Sweaters and jackets are super luxe fabrics ranging from long parkas to varsity style.
The children's collection is inspired by the womens and mens collection. And don't be surprised if you can have a mama daughter moment. The collection is edgy with sport graphics and mini florals. Dresses go with biker boots. Prints are also key in the children's collection featuring bold colors and inventive graphics. Skinny jeans, plaid shirts and blocked knits are must haves. The new straight cargo pant and the 3-in-1 jacket are standout pieces as fleeces, thermals and beefier sweaters also warm things up.
