There comes a certain age - maybe 3rd or 4th grade - where doing homework on the kitchen table isn't going to work as well anymore. Your child will want privacy to write, storage to hold rulers and protractors, and the space to spread out. There's no need to spend a fortune on your child's desk, but it also doesn't have to look dumpy.
Simplicity is key, but it's also wise to consider a desk that can grow as your child - and his or her books and binders - grow too. Check out some of our favorite children's desk below.
Lily Desk - How cute is this? This white desk has eight different accent color choices, three storage drawers, and can turn into a vanity with the optional mirror.
Little Sloane Leaning Desk - This simple space-saving desk has a desktop for homework or typing and a shelf for storage. Add two or more to create a whole wall of workspace.
IKEA MICKE Desk with Integrated Storage - It has a cable hole for managing cords, interesting side storage, comes in three color options and is only $80. Win!
Comet Center with Stool - Perfect for budding artists (or architects), this desk adjusts from flat (for homework) to up to 32° for sketching, has three storage drawers and comes with a stool. Choose from blue, pink or purple.
Otis Youth Computer Desk - Sleek and modern, this silver and black teen desk has an arched leg design, two drawers and a built-in keyboard tray.
Braxton Trestle Desk - Choose from white or black and pick this simple desk up at your local Target for around $150.
Legare Kids' Multi-Pack Desk - Add some serious color to your child's homework center with a choice of vivid purple, pistachio, baby blue or pink. This eco-friendly desk has adjustable shelves, a moveable file holder, and a 43" long desktop.
IKEA MICKE Desk - The smaller sibling of the IKEA desk above, this MICKE desk has two drawers, one cupboard and allows you to mount the storage unit on to either side. Yes, you'll have to assemble it yourself, but it's affordable!
