If you’ve read my column a time or two, you probably know that I’m a die hard Florida girl. And that means I live at the beach, making a fabulous beach bag a summer wardrobe must have. Ok, I don’t exactly LIVE at the beach, but we do try to regularly visit the gorgeous beaches that are just a short drive away from us here in Tampa Bay.
I haven’t lived my whole life in the sunshine state. In fact, I’ve made my home in the large and in charge Southwest state of Texas, as well as our nation’s beautiful capitol, Washington D.C….and I consider New York City a home away from home…But no matter where I’ve lived or where life takes me in the future, I’ll always be a Florida girl through and through. And that means the beach is a big part of my life.
Although you can often find me relaxing at one of my favorite beaches or dining at a beachside restaurant, you won’t catch me sunbathing. Those days are long gone. Sometimes we like to enjoy a nice sunset dinner after our beach day and that usually requires clothes. Haha! So, I need a bag that can accommodate a change of clothes and shoes. Plus, applying sunscreen is a daily habit pour moi, so I always keep various types of sunscreen in my beach bag. I prefer a spray for myself, but use a traditional lotion on my kiddos. By the way, if you’re on the lookout for some new sun care products, check out my sunscreen roundup from last week!
Just in case you have a trip the beach in your near future, I’ve rounded up a slew of beach ready bags. I’m partial to a nice straw tote myself, but there are plenty of other ways to go. And even if the beach isn’t your thing, most of these bags would make great weekend totes too!
