I'm sharing photos from my favorite part of the 10th annual Architectural Digest Home Design Show in NYC--the DIFFA project. The Show covers a broad range of categories including home furnishings, accessories, art & antiques, kitchen and bath products, flooring, fabric, lighting, outdoor products and more--perfect for our special features this month.
While I loved all the home furnishing trends, DIFFA'??s DINING BY DESIGN NY was what really resonated. Every spring in New York, DINING BY DESIGN premieres in a brilliant blast of cuisine, creativity, and spectacle. Check out the above DVF tablescape--divine.
DINING BY DESIGN brought together internationally celebrated designers and local talent to create three dimensional dining installations that delighted this mom. Design teams created tables and then there was a gala cocktail party and fundraiser in this space. Very clever. This one was made by design students using recycled materials.
They are a far cry from my table of flying peas and sticky rice. But that's the best part of these shows--aspiring to create something better in your home and admiring the creativity of others. The xtraordinary dining environments ranged the lavish and romantic to the outrageous and whimsical. And all were done to help raise money for DIFFA.org and organization that helps fight AIDS. Below is Ralph Lauren's romantic country image.
