Saturday Sips - Wine Slushies

April is here and we're welcoming in the new month with one of our favorite new trends - delicious and easy-to-make wine slushies! Your weekend just got a whole lot better.

Wine Slushies

If you're like me, you have fond childhood memories of slushies. Always syrupy sweet and impossibly cold, the slushies were the perfect way to end a hot day. While the ingredients may have grown up a bit, the concept is just the same. Here's how you can make an adult-worthy wine slushie this weekend.

  1. Pour equal amounts of wine and a frozen fruit of your choice into a powerful blender. I'm a big fan of the Blendtec and the Vitamix - I've used both over the years and both of these blenders will truly up your blender game - but any blender powerful enough to make a smoothie should work.
  2. Blend until smooth, adding more wine if needed for consistency. Or because, you know, it's Saturday.

We opted to get a bit fancy here and make a second slushie flavor to layer them into this Instagram-worthy sipper. I love all the fun you can have with pouring them in layers and mixing them together juuuuust enough to get some fun effects. You can also mix a variety of frozen fruits together to make a kind of fruit salad slushie.
