J.Jill is in full spring mode and their April collection hits all the right notes for ushering in warmer weather. The April collection celebrates a fresh season and makes it easy for women to transition their wardrobes in warmer temperatures. New silhouettes and lightweight fabrics lend ease and comfort, while pastel botanicals remind us of blooms to come.
I'm hitting the balance with the lightweight Mixed Media Pullover. I love layering pieces on top, but that can add bulk and result in unflattering lumps and bumps. The built-in layered look of the pullover makes it simple to add interest and dimension to a simple jeans and top look.
My favorite part of the top is the back where the top layer splits to reveal the bottom striped layer. The mix of materials and contrast in pattern adds so much fun and an unexpected twist. The shirt fits on the generous size (I'm wearing a small) making it easy and comfortable to wear. Indeed on this day, we took a two hour drive to explore the cherry blossoms. The striped layer is showing some wrinkles from the long car ride, but it's easy to care for so it will be looking perfect the next time I throw it on.
The front has a nice v-neck - not too deep - and looks nice on its own. I think next time I'll throw on a big statement necklace, though, to balance out the fun in the back.
