I applaud all the crafty moms who can whip up a hand-sewn clown costume or configure a perfect robot out of tin foil and duct tape. I am more of a store-bought-costume-mom, so I was thrilled to try out some of The Disney Store's latest offerings just in time for Halloween.
Toy Story is an all-time favorite of mine. I'm not surprised that this movie has staying power. This year little space men can dress like Buzz Lightyear in an amazing "Light-Up Buzz" outfit ($44.50). The wings flash (no batteries required--they are included) on this jazzy get-up. And note: There is nothing flimsy about this costume--it is ready for adventure and I bet your son will want to wear it EVERY DAY--be warned.
Jasmine is my kind of princess. For one thing she wears pants. Plus, she pals around with a tiger. And nothing against the blond princesses, but we brunettes like to see a dark-haired heroine now and then. This elaborate costume had my 4 y.o. oohing and ahhing. The detail was impressive--from the shiny coins on waist to the cut away sleeves (Sale $34.99 for the two-piece costume). I know that my princes will wear this long after the pumpkins have been put out to pasture.
These costumes are found exclusively at select Disney Store locations in the US and Canada. In addition to these outfits, you can complete the look with a full range of accessories (light up goggles anyone?). Call 1-800-757-5933 for the store nearest you or visit www.disneystore.com.
