When you are pregnant or a new mom you will have access to so much information about your baby. In some cases, this can be information overload. To help new moms and moms-to-be, text4baby, a public-private effort with over 700 partners including the American Academy of Pediatricians and Johnson & Johnson, has created a service where parents can get the right information delivered to their phones.
As the first free health text messaging service in the U.S., text4Baby works by sending free text messages three times a week to pregnant women and new moms about about caring for their health and their baby's health to give them the best possible start in life. This includes information about labor signs, symptoms, prenatal care, baby's development and breastfeeding. The messages are timed to where the woman is in the stage of her pregnancy or baby's first year of development.
How it works is simple? Text 'BABY' (or BEBE for messages in Spanish) to 511411 to get free health information right to your phone. The text4Baby enrollment button, available in English and Spanish, directs to a simple registration form in a new window where users can sign up for our service by answering a few simple questions and does not close our your web page.
You have a lot going on- let Text4baby help you remember your upcoming appointments. Set up a text-based reminder for your doctor’s appointments for you or your baby. It’s easy- you can use the app or set up a reminder through your text messages.
Here’s how you can set up an appointment by text message:
Text remind to 511411
When asked, enter the appointment date with no spaces or words in MMDDYY format (e.g. 101215).
You will then be asked to enter a short description of the appointment (e.g. Dr. Smith 9AM).
You will receive two text reminders: the first reminder 3 days before and the second reminder the morning of your appointment.
