Taking a page from the boy's playbook today. I'm sharing tips on how to style the classics menswear shoe, the oxford. According to Wikipedia, "An Oxford is a style of laced shoe characterized by shoelace eyelet tabs that are stitched underneath the vamp." The particular style of shoe was popular at Oxford University and the name stuck.
To try out the trend, I scored a sample from Hush Puppies.I love the lacey/crochet detail on the sides. A great transition shoe. They can work with your summer tops and then also match up well to fall fashions.
As far as the footwear trend goes, I am mixed. It's certainly works if you are tall and thin (that's why it rocks on Taylor Swift and Sienna Miller). But I'm not so sure about the petite gals. The hair was easy. I started with two pins at the top of my head and then wrapped the braid around the side.
I went for a touch more floral with the Vera Wang bracelet(also from Kohl's). This is a outfit well-suited to a day with the kids when I have to run errands or do a bunch of styling. The shoes are supremely comfortable, and when I want to take a break from a heel it's nice to have an option.
