When my friend Katja invited me to an EyesLipsFace.comevent last week, I jumped at the chance. I haven't updated my makeup in years. "Less is more" has been my makeup motto for years. Another issue--I gravitate to lip glosses better suited to 'tweens than a mom nearing the big 4-0. What I learned at E.L.F. is that I can update my look without having to spend hours in front of the mirror or tons of money on magic potions.
E.L.F. stands for eyes, lips, face. I was so impressed with the quality packaging and was astounded that so many items in the e.l.f. line are just $1. That is recession-friendly pricing and also makes me a bit more willing to try some new colors like a rich red stain on my lips instead of gloss.
All in all after this event I feel a bit silly for paying as much as I have over the years for cosmetics now that I know this brand can deliver the same (better?) results for a fraction of the price. Here are a few of the things I'll be ordering:
- The Minerals Shadows ($3 a pop) in Sassy and Elegant.
- The Studio Line Eyeliner and Shadow Stick ($3).
- And my favorite product from the night (I'm ready to trade in my Laura Mercier concealer) the Studio Undereye Concealer and Highlighter ($3 compared to $22--ouch).
E.L.F did not pay for this post and did not provide any free product.
