Mom Loves Her Rock Concerts

Hired a sitter, put on some heels and headed out to a rock concert. Mommy time can take various forms--from a chill yoga class to a chick flick--but sometimes Mom needs to rock. So we hopped in a cab to Terminal 5 to see Courtney Love and Hole. Mr. Momtrends and I were packed in shoulder to shoulder with a very enthusiastic crowd of 20-somethings. Awesome. Courtney looked every bit the glam rock star--outfitted in couture black lace with flawless makeup she appears to have left her grungy side far behind her.

Sadly she mostly seemed to call in her performance (I guess she doesn't know we were paying $15 an hour for a sitter) and stuck to songs from the mediocre new album Nobody's Daughter. About 30 minutes into the show, she acquiesced and rolled out the old songs (how good is Celebrity Skin!) we were all craving and the crowd went wild.

It was great to be part of the energy and take part of a standing room only concert (most of the shows we see nowadays have assigned seating). While I'm not advising you rush out to catch the Hole tour, I highly recommend reconnecting with your youth and catching a live show this summer.

Here are some of the hottest tours of 2010:

Get tickets, get a sitter and feel like you're 19 again. Momtrends promises you a good time. Now if I can just find a good connection for Pearl Jam this month....
