Ok, so I love to cook and I love to bake, but the one thing I cannot do is to make shortbread cookies. I just can't make the dough, roll it out (on a cold surface sprinkled with flour, no less) and then cut them out into shapes. It's too much work for me and too many steps, so my kids never have good ol' shortbread cookies. Until now. Walker's Shortbread is a traditional, classic shortbread made from only four ingredients: butter, flour, sugar and salt. Yup, that's it!! The company was founded in 1898 in Scotland and to this day, over 116 years later, it continues to be made in Scotland by the same family that founded it.

Here is where it gets amazing for all of us busy moms: for the holidays, Walkers has made themed cookies, including the Walker's Shortbread Festive Shapes, Mini Festive Stars (which make for a great stocking stuffer), and the Mini Hanukkah Stars for those celebrating Hanukkah. All of them have the same delicious traditional shortbread taste, but in fun holiday shapes like Santa Claus, Christmas tree, bell and star shapes.

So, there's one less thing we have to cook or bake: just buy these cookies and you know you'll have something delicious to eat for dessert. (Which means more time with family & friends, of course!)

A fun idea to do a the kids table is to put a tray out of the Walker's Festive Shapes with some frosting and sprinkles and let the kids have a hand at decorating them. You can use easy-to-squeeze condiment bottles for easy dispensing, toothpicks to add details and sprinkles for some sparkle. The already-imprinted cookies make decorating super easy. Just "color" in the lines!
