If I were to say the word PVC, what do you think would be the first thing to come to your mind? Im guessing that you wouldnt be thinking about chic, classy accessories right? See through pieces, namely lucite shoes have gotten a bad rap over the years, but the spring 2013 runways proved that being able to see through your shoes and bags can make for a downright fabulous look.
I have to admit that I have a soft spot for see through things. I was a hard core jellies lover back in the day. I may have even bought Jimmy Choo inspired jelly sandals a few years back. What can I say? Show me something that reminds me of my youth and Im all over it. Unless were talking about grunge. Grunge was never a style I could get behind. Dont hate me Kurt Cobain enthusiasts! Haha. In fact, I so love reliving the past, that Ill be hangin tough with my fellow NKOTB fans at their concert this summer. Im not the only one right? But I digress Lets get back to my see through love fest.
Chanel, Gucci and Michael Kors included some gorgeous see through pieces in their spring shows, but Valentinos Rockstud line really stole my heart. If Valentino is in your budget the Rockstud line of shoes and bags is totally worth the splurge, but if youre looking for a more budget friendly version of the see through look, never fear There are some lovely options that wont break the bank!
Not only is see through a big trend, but ankle strap heels and small scale bags are also on trend. I would love to wear these BCBG heels with some cropped ankle pants and a boxy top. Remember when I said to score yourself a boxy top?!? And I think this little Marc Jacobs cross-body bag would look adorable with a sweet lace dress or fierce leather shift. Yep...All the trends Ive mentioned so far in my Trendy Thursday columns are coming into play!
Let's not forget about these darling Forever 21 sandals. They're screaming to be styled with some crisp white denim. And the Valentino Rockstud bag would be amazing with just about anything, but I would probably rock it with a floral frock to give it a little edge!
So, is the see through trend right up your alley or do you wish it would have stayed dead and buried?
