Last summer we took this fabulous trip to Norway and visited the Dale museum and outlet. Yes, we love trendy nordic sweaters, but more than that, we love the story of this company and the heritage they bring to the world of ski fashion. We learned about the ski history of the company Dale of Norway.com. In fact we loved the concept so much, we put these photos on the cover of our 2016/17 Family Ski Guide.
I'm wearing the Lahti women's sweater from Dale. It's an iconic nordic design featuring the stripes from the Norwegian flag. It's also got an exclusive patch signifying the 2017 Championships on the upper arm. I'm sporting the matching Lahti hat too.
We took these photos at the Sonnenalp on our most recent Vail Ski Holiday. We worked with this fabulous local photographer named Stephanie (email me if you want her number for family photo shoots in Vail). Maybe you find the matchy-matchy look cheesy, but I think it's sweet.
They come in styles for the whole family. Let me tell you a little about the company.
The village of Dale is nestled between beautiful steep mountains, waterfalls and fjords on the west coast of Norway. We drove by on our way to the fjords. Check out the landscapes in Norway.
The company was founded in In 1879, the area had a strong knitting traditions, and a great supply of natural power from the local waterfalls. They've been in the business of making tightly knit sweaters that are warm and amazingly easy to move it. They are perfect for your winter workouts.
I'm going to geek out on these sweaters--we're huge fans. The sweaters are made from 100% Merino wool. They are soft (not itchy in the least--I promise). And here's a bonus if your kids are messy eaters (mine are) Merino wool is naturally infused with stain resistant properties. So when the kids get cocoa on the sweater it comes out!

As you can see the kids loved them. My girls wear them skiing every day as a layer of warmth. They wear a thermal layer then these Dale sweaters then a ski jacket--they never complain about being cold on top and they look adorable after skiing.
My girls are wearing the Lahti Sweater (available in red or blue) they are unisex and the sizing is spot on (maybe a little on the small side since it is a European company).
Fun Fact: this is the official official World Cup sweater for 2016 and 2017 for Norwegian National Cross Country Ski Team. “Lahti” derives its name from the Finnish city where the 2017 World Ski Championships will be held, in which athletes from the Norwegian National Team will compete.
If you ski or do any winter sports invest in Dale sweaters. They are heirloom quality and part of my winter wardrobe.

Monday Mingle is the stylish collaboration between Kristin from TakeTimeForStyle.com and Cheryl from Oh to Be a Muse and Momtrends. Each week we post about our personal style and then invite our friends to join in the fun. Next year we will be mixing things up. We can't wait to share what's next.
