If you follow Momtrends on Twitter, you may have noticed that I was in NYC during New York Fashion Week trendspotting for all of you lovely readers! I had a wonderful time exploring the city, going to some shows and attending the Fashion Forward Conference. Everywhere I went, I found oodles of inspiration for my fall wardrobe.
One big take away for me was jewel tones...I'm all about the jewel tones. I've made no secret of this and I loved them long before my trendspotting trip, but after visiting the Tractenberg & Co. showroom and after seeing so many glorious jewel tones in street style form, I concluded that I need even more jewel tones in my wardrobe this fall.
So, about that showroom visit. The lovely Tractenberg folks were kind enough to invite me up to preview some of their fall lines and a few brands in particular really stood out to me. All three were new to me and I'm just sorry that I hadn't learned about them sooner. Rory Beca, Nieves Lavi and Berry Brown can now be counted among my brand crushes.
Rory Beca's oh so chic fall line is peppered with punches of vibrant color. My favorite pieces were flowy without being oversized and I could see them being seriously flattering on many different body types.
For me, Nieves Lavi is all about the prints. I love a good print and the Nieves ones I previewed were bold enough to add some serious oomph to your closet. Plus, two of my very favorite hues, cobalt and burgundy, were there in spades!
And last, but not least...Berry Brown is a new line of luxe handbags that has been spotted on the likes of Olivia Palermo. Whether you're on the lookout for a roomy tote or jaunty cross-body, Berry Brown bags has you covered. These are the kind of pieces you'll pass down to your daughter. Little details like contrast piping make these gorgeous bags seriously special. The deep browns, regal reds and winter whites make them perfect for fall!
What do you think lovelies? Have these fabulous trends made you ready to add my new brand crushes to your must watch list? And while we're on the subject of trends...I'd love to share a hair trend that I saw backstage with Ouidad at the Tracy Reese show. Waves are hot hot hot and they aren't going anywhere...Thankfully for this girl, my natural texture is a crazy mess of curls/waves. Haha!
As I watched the talented stylists use their magic hands to twist and turn the manes of the lovely Tracy Reese models into easy, unstructured knots, I instantly fell in love with the laid back look. The texture of the waves coupled with the messy knot made for such a soft, pretty style.
I will definitely be attempting to create my own textured knot this fall...Who's with me?
