Each year, more than 3.5 million people in NYC and over 50 million people at home watch the Parade. Want to get the best views of the Macy's Parade? We've got all the details, plus some insider scoop. First, you'll want to dress warm and set the alarm, though the parade starts at 9pm, those wanting good views will need to be up and at 'em around 6. 

For the 93 edition, the line-up will feature 16 giant character balloons; 40 novelty balloons, heritage balloons, balloonicles, balloonheads and trycaloons; 26 floats; 1,200 cheerleaders and dancers; more than 1,000 clowns; and 11 marching bands.

Tips for planning your Macy's Thanksgiving Parade Visit

Timing: The Parade Route begins at 77th Street & Central Park West. There is a viewing area there and the crowd will be to see about 90 minutes of entertainment at this point. Things spread out as the parade marches towards Macy's expect about 3 hours of show in front of the legendary store. And the NBC coverage runs from 9 a.m. until noon.

Balloons: There are new additions arrive every year! New giants joining the line-up this year include Astronaut Snoopy by Peanuts Worldwide, Green Eggs and Ham by Netflix, and SpongeBob SquarePants & Gary by Nickelodeon. In celebration of his 75 birthday, a heritage balloon and fan favorite will return to the Parade as Smokey Bear once again takes to the skies over Manhattan.

Insider's Tip: Check out the balloon inflation on Wednesday. Bring the kids and watch the 25 balloons come to life. This takes place from 3 - 10 p.m. near the American Museum of Natural History just off Central Park West between 77th St. and 81st St.
