Summer Track & Field Program for NYC Kids

CityParks Track & Field presented by ING gives New York City kids, ages five to 16, the chance to learn the basics of the sport, from hurdles and relay races, to long jump, shot put and javelin throw. The program, supported by ING Run for Something Better, is held from July 6th to August 11th.

The program, presented by ING Run for Something Better, runs each summer in July and August.Actual start dates for lessons at each park vary according to which days of the week lessons are given there. Make note of the correct start date for your park.

All participating youngsters have the opportunity to display the basic skills learned at the end of the season at an organized track meet held at Ichan Stadium, the world class sports complex on Randall’s Island on August 11th. This summer, City Parks Foundation’s free sports instruction programs for kids will be offered in over 45 locations citywide. Free use of equipment is available at all lessons.

Pre-register online at www.CityParksFoundation.org. Registration is on a first-come basis, and all participants will receive confirmation of registration by mail or email.
