Summer Ready Espadrilles

Along with my beloved t-strap sandals, espadrilles are definitely my go-to summer shoes! Whether I'm stepping out in a sundress or shorts, espadrilles go perfectly with most of this Florida girl's summer wardrobe. They scream easy-breezy style and that's definitely the vibe I'm going for come summertime. Who am I kidding? That's the vibe I'm going for most of the year. Haha! Laid back chic is a hallmark of Florida style. And while you might not live in Florida, I bet you'd like to channel a Floridian every now and again...wouldn't you? It's like we're in a perpetual state of rockin' resort wear. Ok, we might slip out of our shorts and sandals every now and again...but on our down time, we're all about easy-breezy comfort!

With wicked hot temps and unpredictable rain showers, shoes that can get wet and breathe are definitely on my priority list. Espadrilles fit the bill on both counts! If I get caught in a storm, all I have to do is set them out in the sun for a bit to dry and I'm good to go. Plus, espadrille flats are easy to run in. Those summer showers come out of nowhere! Even if you aren't worried about the rain, I bet you're running after your kiddos a good part of your day. I know I am!

Since espadrilles are such an important part of my summer style, I'm always eager to add another pair to my summer shoe collection and right now I'm crushin' on fun, vibrant prints and colors. I found some fabulous options from Artisan Gems Boutique and Soludos. Aren't they all just so cheery? Those pesky storms wouldn't get the best of me if I was happily skipping along in a pair of these!

I always love a good stripe and the RockFlowerPaper striped espadrilles instantly transport me to the beach. Can't you just see them on the sand? And I can't even begin to choose which pair of Soludos espadrilles is my favorite...Can you?

The Best Overnight French Toast Recipe

We've hit the winter lull--that lengthy stretch of season with no plans, no parties, nothing to do, and nowhere to go. I have to admit that at first, I welcomed the quiet obligation-free weekends of January. After the nonstop hustle-bustle pace of November and December, my family more

If you're wondering how to style espadrilles, I've put together a little summer-ready look for you! I love fashion contradictions and while the lace top is on the dressy side, the espadrilles somehow look at home with both it and the decidedly more casual neon shorts! And don't get me started on the palm print...It's definitely calling my name!
