Stone Barns Sheep Shearing Day
Baaa! Get ready for springtime fun at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture. On Saturday the 24th, it's time to watch our wooly friends get ready for the warm weather. Expert farmers will shear the sheep and there will be loads of family activities.
Observe and ask questions as farmers shear wool from their flock of Finn-Dorset sheep. Watch spinners at work and learn to comb and card wool alongside our educators. Try your hand at using a drop spindle or a mini-loom, and enjoy felting activities for children ($4/child) and for adults ($10/adult). It's a good idea to pre-register for the classes--go here.
