Yesterday I popped into Manhattan for the COVERGIRL Beauty Remix event with Sofia Vergara. The event was held to kick off summer and to about announcing the LARGEST group of new products from COVERGIRL in over a decade!
The picture above shows the hostess and spokesperson Sofia Vergara with the newest Covergirl’s, NERVO. I got to try a slew of new products and snap a few shots of Sofia. Sadly she was swept away before I could nab an interview. But I did get these tips from one of the amazing makeup artsist on hand.
When the heat and humidity rise, it's time to change your makeup. Look for gel-based or oil-free moisturizers and makeup. I tried the new whipped foundation and loved it. The lightweight "whipped crème" foundation gives went on without feeling heavy or greasy, shiny finish. Available in 10 shades to match your skin tone. The pro I was working with said to look for a product with silicon to make sure your face will be shine free. TIP: For an even lighter application, spray a little water on your makeup sponge before applying.
Another tip? You don't need as much foundation. This is a great time to switch to a 2-in-1 product like a BB cream or a CC cream. So you can skip a step in your morning prep--and with most of these you can also eliminate a primer. I tried the new Olay CC cream. My favorite was the Total Effects Tone Correcting Eye Treatment. It lit up the under-eye area, gave me coverage AND promises to help hide fine lines, shadows and wrinkles. Sold. Another multi-tasking product to help me lighten up this summer. TIP: To keep your look light and airy go for products that are oil-free in the summer.
