Looking for a fun, creative way to spend an afternoon, birthday, or special event? Head on over to Scribble Press's new location on the Upper East Side. Scribble Press is an art studio where you can write, illustrate, and publish your very own book or keepsake.
We got to take a look behind the scenes to see how it all works. When we arrived, "Comic Book Camp" was in session and we got to see kids in action, creating their very own Comic Book. Everyone was super excited to show me their works in progress.
I also had the opportunity to see how a place-mat was made from start to finish. It's a simple process: scan, upload, print, laminate- and, every work of art is saved in a data base for future use.
The best thing about Scribble Press is that you can make and take your work with you in a matter of minutes. They offer a variety of projects ranging from books to planners to cards and calendars, all of which are reasonably priced, $40 and under. The store also includes rare and one-of-a-kind products (stationary, art supplies, pre-packaged projects, etc.) that are specially ordered from unique vendors to ensure anyone entering the store will find something that sparks their imagination. And don't forget to check out the "famous" wall of markers- any color of the rainbow is at your fingertips!
You can pop in any time or sign up for any of their group classes (starting as young as 2!). Memberships are available and special perks are included with each plan. Got a birthday coming up? Basic party packages include plenty of bells and whistles, plus each kid gets to take home a book or project. Check out Scribble Press for more information.
