What ingredients make a great sandwich? Answer: Jamie and Bobby Deen and lots of grains. We recently joined these handsome Southern brothers for Sandwich Night. The hosts of the Food Network'??s '??Road Tasted'? and sons of Paula Deen, encourage families nationwide to make one night a week Sandwich Night and so do we.
Americans eat approximately 300 million sandwiches each day with nearly half of those being consumed at lunch and just a quarter at dinner. Incorporating sandwiches into the weekly dinner menu is not only easy but it is nutritious and inexpensive.
The Grain Foods Foundation Endless Sandwich recipe database at gowiththegrain.org is making it easy for us with an online recipe database where consumers can download recipes and add their own sandwich favorites. The Endless Sandwich database also features exclusive recipes created by the Deen brothers. Two of our favorites are the Crunchy Super Kid'??s Sandwich - packed with protein, sweetness and crunch. And the Grilled Bacon Pimento Cheese Sandwich - a real Southern treat!
