Poets House Fall 2010 Programs for Children
Try something new this fall. Celebrate language with Poets House. Each week they host Tiny Poets Time, a free weekly poetry program for toddlers. And mark your calendar for a series of free special events for the pint-sized poets.
Tiny Poets is held in the Constance Laibe Hays Childrens Room at Poets House on Thursdays at 10:00 am and features poetry readings and poetry-related activities for children ages three and under and their adults.
Other programs for Children at Poets House are for bigger kids. Here's an upcoming event for children ages four to ten. Ghostwriter Bobbi Katz shares hair-raising poems from her new book The Monsterologist: A Memoir in Rhyme, the spooky account of a man who devotes his life to the study of monsters. After reading from this Whos Who of Monsterhood (Paul Janeczko), Katz guides children in writing their own monstrous verse.
