Picking Up the Pace in the Bugaboo Runner

Few things can motivate me to run—by choice, that is. (Cardio is not my jam.) But a stylish jogging stroller—well, I'll get my sweat on for the opportunity to test out a hot new piece of baby gear. And the brand new Bugaboo Runner might just be the coolest, sleekest, most amazing jogger on the market—so, yeah, this mama had no choice but to throw her hair in a pony, lace up those barely used sneakers, and start pounding the pavement.

Of course, before I could hit the road and play the role of runner (with my running companion in tow), Baby P and I had to dress the respective parts.

Let's be honest—my outfit isn't all that exciting: black workout pants, a turquoise sports bra, a white boyfriend tank, and hot-pink track shoes. Little Miss Thing's sporty ensemble, on the other hand, is far more stylish—her Nike onesie and that matching baseball hat! (Could you just?!?!)

But the real show stealer is the Bugaboo Runner. It's definitely a beast—but I actually mean that in the best way possible (and, FYI, it's surprisingly light). The large frame, which folds compactly, can be purchased separately—and used in conjunction with an existing Bugaboo seat; or you can get the whole jogging system as a separate unit. Baby can face Mom or see the surrounding world, and can remain upright or reclined. The five-point harness keeps your precious cargo safe, snug, and secure on fast-paced sprints.

The oversized front wheel is fixed—which means you can't turn the stroller. To switch directions, you actually have to pick the front wheel up off the ground—and this is not without good reason. The Bugaboo Runner is a performance-driven jogger—and that large air-filled front wheel ensures an incredibly smooth and stable ride on all terrains. The handle bar is adjustable and there's a nifty wristband that helps you stay connected. The hand break is a major selling point too—if you suddenly need to slow up whilst going down hill, you can just gently squeeze.

Suffice to say, I actually enjoyed picking up the pace. I may be a novice jogger, but the Bugaboo Runner has me feeling faster and stronger. And as for Baby P? Well, the onesie says it all...
