We've stumbled upon some great new kid-centric kitchen tools from OXO. For years we've been fans of the no-slip OXO tools. I be in serious kitchen peril without my reliable OXO peeler, zester, etc. Now this NYC brand has a new set of tools designed to feed your tots with ease and to inspire them to lend a hand. We love the colorful, clean designs (just what you'd expect!) and we put all the tools to the test last week at a launch party for the brand.
Amateur chefs gathered at the Culinary Institute to get lessons from the pros. We roasted chicken, whipped up sweet potatoes and created a tasty dessert. My favorite tools? The food mill ($49.99; makes baby food in a few twirls) and the apple divider ($9.99). The chic green handles caught my eye, but the proof was in the performance.
There were some serious chefs there, like Kelsey The Naptime Chef, that the two of us working on a pear and apple dessert. The recipes will be posted soon on the OXO facebook page. The idea was use one set of ingredients to prepare food for baby and tots and then simply spice them up for the big people--smart!
