Find a little om this weekend. Karma Kids Yoga invites all yogis big and small to perform 108 Sun Salutations for the eighth annual Global Mala - Yoga For Peace Event, taking place in New York, and in cities around the world.
The Global Mala Yoga for Peace event is a demonstration of how a group can generate peace, in unison, through yoga. Participants will move to powerful drum beats while completing an invigorating practice of 108 Sun Salutations, or Mala in Sanskrit. A group Svasana will follow, a lying meditation, to form a human Mandala, or Peace Wheel. Prominent figures in the yoga community will lead in chanting Kirtan together. One heart, one mind, one purpose.
And since children are natural pioneers for peace and for positive change, a special kids yoga area will be provided by Karma Kids Yoga, where we will practice sun salutations, fun, animated yoga poses, yoga games, and dancing. There will also be face painting for the kids.
Children of all ages are invited! Dress for yoga and bring a mat.
