Want to build your daughter's self esteem? Give her a guitar. Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls is a non-profit music and mentoring program that empowers girls through music education. This Brooklyn-based music and mentioning program is offering 14 week after-school music lesson program at the Willie Mae Music Lab in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. The non-profit provides families with a sliding scale tuition rate and free instrument loan.

Group lessons are offered on electric guitar, keyboard and drums for levels beginner, intermediate and advanced. This unique environment with all female teachers and mentors provides a collaborative and supportive learning experience for young women. Beginning this year, participants now also have the opportunity to apply to join an all-girl band!

Drum Classes: Monday & Tuesday afternoons
Electric Guitar Classes: Wednesday & Thursday afternoons
Band Practice: Friday afternoons


Rock Camp for Girls

Lessons are available for girls ages 8-18 with all levels of experience – even those with NO experience!

Classes begin January 31, 2011
