NYC is a shopping mecca. Prepare to revamp your wardrobe while here. And here's a tip to save space on the plane for more goody bags. Skip hauling a stroller along and pick up a FREE loaner from Maclaren (150 Wooster street, just south of Houston). Yes, this imperial British brand is lending out strollers to everyone that mentions Momtrends. Simply stop by the flagship store in Soho when you arrive and then wheel around in style. We bet you'll love it so much you'll want one.
Trendy moms know the hippest stores are situated in the Meat Packing District. Two of our favorites are Stella McCartney, 429 W. 14th St., stellamccartney.comand Jeffrey New York, (oh the shoes) 449 W. 14th St., 212-206-1272. A little further south we love Yoya, 636 Hudson Street, to pick up something special for the kids and Belly Dance Maternity, 548 Hudson Street, for expecting mamas.
New Yorker'??s love a bargain and you should too. Don'??t miss out on the chance to pick up designer gear at a discount. We love Daffy'??s '??high fashion at low process. You'??ll see tons of designer labels at these stores. Try the Soho location: Broadway & Grand Street, SOHO (212) 334-7444.
Finally, my old stomping grounds--Ralph Lauren is always a delight. The Mansion (the iconic flagship store) is at 1055 Madison near 72nd and has bouquets of fresh flowers and the nicest staff. Head up to the 3rd floor ladies department and tell them I sent you! And finally we're bonkers for the kaftans and kurtas at the UES locations of Roberta Freymann.

This summer Doug + Mike Starn are the artists on the roof. Big Bamboo is a monumental bamboo structure, measuring 100 feet long, 50 feet wide, and 50 feet high. The work takes the form of a cresting wave that bridges realms of sculpture, architecture, and performance. The accompanying Martini Bar is open from 5:30'??8:00 p.m. Cocktails and art? Perfect. Take the elevator in the European Sculpture and Decorative Arts Galleries to the 5th floor. 1000 Fifth Avenue.
Work it Out
Our favorite yoga studios are YogaWorks. From beginners to those of you who can stand on your head for two minutes, we insist you find some zen after taking NYC by storm.
This trip is about busting out of your comfort zone. Why not try a 2-hour class at the New York Trapeze School! The outdoor facility is located on the west side of Manhattan overlooking the Hudson River. The instructors gave us the proper mix of support and silliness. Opt for the Pier 40 5:45 pm sunset class and be sure to book ahead of time. Prices start at $50 for first timers outdoors.
