The blogger holiday event of the season took place in an icy-cool setting. We gathered dozens of our favorite trend-setting editors for an afternoon "Spa-liday" hosted by International Delight, Momtrends and MomGenerations.
Since giving is always better than getting, that was the theme of the event. We gave our blogging community some much needed pampering. So many writers shut the laptop to join us. First, we treated everyone to a tasty beverage. For a refreshing drink, we served up cool new iced coffee from International Delight.
To keep things exciting, we added a luge and ice sculpture to the mix--Monica gives it a test run. International Delight Iced Coffee Drink is made with 100% premium Arabica coffee and is available in three authentic coffeehouse flavors, including Vanilla, Mocha and Original--rave reviews.
This prepared drink comes in half-gallon containers and will be available at grocery stores such as Food Emporium. Our taste-testers agreed--this is great news for coffee lovers. Costing just $3.99 for a half gallon, you'll get a week's worth of drinks for a fraction of the price of a coffeehouse--plus no waiting in line! Look for the launch in January.
Good news for busy moms--this is a convenient way to enjoy coffeehouse-quality iced coffee at home. Just pour over ice and enjoy anytime. Elizabeth and Dawn from Party Blueprints were definitely fans.
Some like it hot, for them there were the International Delight creamers. Cinnabon® was a huge hit. It's like sipping a warm, rich cinnamon pastry. Keeping in the coffee-theme, even the flowers matched (and several lucky writers like Brianne went home with bouquets).
While the bloggers were nibbling at the lunch and enjoying their drinks we started in on the beauty treatments. The team at Hair Rules whipped all the tangled tresses into shape. Our friends looked red-carpet ready after the expert blow-outs. Check out Serena washing that stress right outta her hair and Lauren getting glam (let's hop the hubby took her out to dins with those gorgeous locks). Look for our post with tips from celebrity stylist Dicky this week!
We offered coffee-colored manicures too. Rebecca took a much-need break from running her empire to sip coffee, chat and update the nails. And who couldn't use a massage this time of year. We treated our friends to mini massages to work out the holiday stress.
Yes, we were giving lots of TLC, but we were also getting...gifts for Toys for Tots and Coats for Kids. Representatives from each organization came to collect the generous donations. We sent bags and bags of goodies to needy families. Our community rocks!
And on the topic of presents and giving, we were also given a tutorial on the fine art of gift wrapping. Renee Goetz, a couture gift wrapper, currently employed at Kates Paperie in Soho, shared a gift wrapping demonstration that wowed the crowd.
Renee says, "Give as much love in the wrapping as you give in the gift." That means splurging for multiple papers and designs. We learned the Japanese Pleated technique to dress up our packages and got tips for wrapping irregular shaped packages. And one last tip, Renee insists on double sided tape for neat, clean presentation.
Momtrends events are sponsored affairs. There is never a script or a heavy sell. We simply share the latest trends that moms care about. We welcome all members of the blogging community.
