Summer always seems to fly for our family and 2016 is no exception. We have been spending time with grandparents and cousins, escaping the city to the beach, and relishing in the fact that we have this time together. However my inbox is starting to fill up with back to school reminders and I know that playdates and soccer practice are just around the corner which means I have to start thinking about early fall fashion soon. I am beyond excited for my daughters to be in school together this year. With my youngest in pre-kindergarten and my oldest entering first grade, they will be in the same school which means only one drop-off/pickup for the first time ever!
However, my belly is growing larger by the minute and I am starting to think about the next phase of maternity fashion. The dog days of summer have been amazing for this pregnant mom because I can lounge a bit more than usual. My clothing has reflected that relaxation. But September will bring more work, school, and family responsibilities, which translates into a need for more “serious” clothes! I will need clothing that is comfortable for our ten block walk to school, cool since it is hot well into September in NYC, and also somewhat professional. I am lucky enough to work from home but have a number of meetings each week that require me to dress up.
Thank goodness I was recently introduced to the maternity line Seraphine. I am always on the lookout for functional clothes that are still fun and trendy and Seraphine fits the bill. They have a slew of early fall fashion ready pieces.
The tailored white cropped maternity trousers, for example, are fun, professional, and (most importantly) cool. They are going to be my early-fall staple for pants because they are so versatile in white.
The bamboo striped nursing jumper (similar here) is incredibly comfortable and works really well as a personal/professional crossover piece. It also has snaps on the shoulder so it will be great for both maternity and nursing after the baby is born! And if you're a stripes fan like me, check out the Nadia Nursing Dress too!
The polka dot button down has a sassy feel that is also a perfect match for the cropped pants. It has a lot of room to grow, so I expect to be wearing it right through November when we meet our little boy. And speaking of polka dots...Seraphine's polka dot maternity shift dress is super cute too!
As our family enjoys the last month of our quickly fading summer, I feel much more relaxed that I already have some fashionable and functional Seraphine clothing for fall. I can officially check some early fall fashion must haves off my list!
