Syncing Your Style: Maternity Lounge Wear

Nothing says discomfort to an expectant mama like too tight clothing. At the end of a long day running around with, and after my two littles, I want to change into something a little more comfortable.

Maternity lounge wear is perfect for well lounging! As our bodies grow and change, so do our wardrobes. Now that my little belly bump has sprouted and my other parts seems to be growing right along side it!, I want to be comfortable without looking and feeling sloppy. The styles I have chosen will be great for the duration of my pregnancy and well beyond. They are also nursing friendly which will extend the life of each piece way after baby is born. When visitors come, I will be presentable, have the coverage I want while remaining comfortable as well as stylish.

When I think of Maternity Lounge Wear I think of types that are a more "visitor" appropriate pajama, clothes that are easy and comfortable, not sloppy and nothing that resembles an old ill fitted t-shirt. I want it all from my maternity lounge wear, versatility, comfort and chic casual style.

Belabumbum: For luxe style and comfort, Belabumbum is my go to brand. I love the romantic details, the flattering cut, and the fit that allows for growth without making look or feel too big. Most styles, like the Colette Poet top and pants make nursing easy with easy pull down access, and the smocked waist holds my pants up all while accommodating my belly. I love that the pants don't have a string tie, and have a just right fit that will work in the first, third, fourth trimester and beyond. I love the lace detail on the cuffs and hem, the tie neckline and the flow and silky soft fabric. Belabumbum has a fabulous SUMMER SALE on now through July 4th.

Isabella Oliver has great quality pieces and versatile basics. I love this Relaxed Jersey Maternity shirt that would as great with my leggings and cozy slippers as it would with skinny jeans and strappy shoes. I can wear it throughout my pregnancy as the under bust tie and cut will accommodate my belly while remaining comfortable and stylish and the buttons make for easy nursing as well. I could easily wear this lounging around the house or dress it up and head out the door feeling confident and put together.

Skip the Crowds and Take Your Family Skiing in Waterville Valley

After a sizable snow storm over Martin Luther King weekend, there were plenty of lift lines and skiers heading to Vermont. Amazingly, most of them drove right past an awesome resort. I'm encouraging families to skip the crowds on the next winter holiday and take a family ski trip more

BDA pants by Belly Bandit-I could LIVE  in these pants. appropriately named the "before, during and After" pant, the softest of the soft bamboo fabric with the ruched hip detail makes these the ultimate in comfort. Glamourmom makes the ingenious nursing tank that is perfect for every stage of your pregnancy and well into the fourth trimester and beyond. I first noticed that Glamourmom offers a variety of tanks in more than just the basic colors. I love the longer length (perfect for both my growing baby belly AND dealing with a postpartum tummy later on), that I have full support with wide, easily adjustable straps, and I will be able to discreetly nurse. The nursing bra hooks are easy to close/open with a single hand and the VERY BEST feature? the chest band is adjustable.

As your bustline changes from feeding to feeding and as the scale moves toward pre-pregnancy weight, the band can be adjusted to for a comfortable fit. You no longer need several different tanks because the Glamourmom tank does it all. If you're looking for greater coverage, try the Glamourmom full bust nursing tank, more support and side ruching with the same innovative adjustable chest band. Casually fashionable, with workhorse function.

To me nothing says cozy like a wrap. This ballet inspired wrap from FitBump is as luxurious as it looks. Made in a fair trade manner this Ismene wrap is soft, hugs your body without being too fitted, ties just in a stylish, not sloppy manner and has the sweetest thumb hole details. I love the heather gray and the lemon yellow colors. Perfect for lounging, nursing or running errands with babe in tow all while feeling as great as you look. I love to pair soft wraps and tunics with a good pair of leggings. Thyme Maternity offers great style at an affordable price point. The leggings are soft, have ample belly coverage (and will continue to accommodate my belly as it grows) and have enough stretch without feeling like I am being squeezed in. You can shop Thyme Maternity online or at select Babies R' US stores.
