If you're on a diet stop reading this post right now. Just looking at Levain Bakery cookies might add an inch or two to your waistline.
But boy is are these treats divine and well worth a hike to the UWS. Momtrends made a recent trip to the bakery to celebrate the first day of kindergarten for one of our little girls.
We couldn't decide between the chocolate chunk or dark chocolate peanut butter (and let's not forget the oatmeal raisin)--final answer: Peanut butter please. We took our warm cookie and sat on the bench outside talking about the merits of peanut butter and the awesomeness of being in kindergarten. These are the moments that I'll never forget of motherhood.
The bakery bakes the cookies fresh each day. There's a little bench outside for eating (these cookies won't wait until you get home). Yep, they are $4 a pop--and worth every penny.
Others adore the fresh breads and other baked treats--but for us it's all about the cookie.Outside of NYC? They do mail order too.
