Lemony Snicket, the alarmingly elusive author whose many tomes include the 13 bothersome books in “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” appears with Maira Kalman, the illustrator of Mr. Snicket’s latest book, “13 Words.” Fans can get a preview of what's to come from the October 5th book release.

The conversation will be followed by a book sale and signing. Interviewed by Patricia Cohen, New York Times culture reporter.
