Trendy Thursday: Leather for Day and Night

Leather is one of my very favorite spring trends. I love it so much, in fact, that I felt it deserved another Trendy Thursday mention!

In my last post on leather, I shared pieces that I was diggin’ for spring like a leather peplum top and leather shorts, but one piece I didn’t include was leather skinnies.

A pair of skinny leather pants is the kind of piece you can wear all year long. Well, if you reside in a tropical climate like myself, you might want to steer clear of them if you’re going to be outside in the summer as you might end up with a Ross and the bottle of powder situation…I know you fellow Friends fans know what I’m talking about. Haha! The dog days of summer aside, for the most part, leather skinnies are all season appropriate which makes them investment worthy in my book. I don’t believe in spending a serious chunk of change on fashions that you won’t have in your closet for years to come. The cost per wear ratio of a piece is very important to me and a well crafted leather piece would got a LOT of wear from this girl!

They’re especially perfect for this time of year. Transitional pieces that will take you from the end of winter right on into spring are invaluable. Plus, they do double duty transition wise. They can transition from day to night with ease. You can dress leather skinnies down during the daytime and jazz them up at night!

This pair of Monika Chiang pair skinny leather pants is beyond divine! They’re charmingly playful paired with a casual peplum tee and t-strap sandals. And they’re oh so chic styled with a lace peplum top and heels. I’m a huge fan of adding some edge to overtly sweet looks and leather works wonders on an outfit’s cool factor. As a finishing touch, a silver statement cuff would set off either ensemble perfectly! Just sayin'.

So, have I convinced you that you need to add a leather piece to your spring wardrobe yet?!?
