Lauren Adelle Pants: Chic and Slim

Dressing up for meetings used to be standard for me. Nowadays, my more casual wardrobe is missing some important basics. The Adelle Straight Leg Pant ($99.50) is a clean classic dress pant that works well for office, and can be dressed up or down for a variety of social occasions depending on your accessories.

First, let me rave about the fabric. It's got a great feel and moves beautifully. I paired it with an old pin stripe blazer for a work conference and loved the look. I give high marks to the logo buttons and the trim cut--what they didn't get right is the sizing. I worked at Ralph Lauren for years and know that from label to label (ie Lauren vs. Black Label) sizes can change. Normally I wear a 2 or 4. I am swimming in the size 2 Adelle. This is the smallest size available, so sadly slim moms are going to be out of luck on this pant. My advice? When ordering online get two sizes and return the pair that doesn't work.

What I did like? The medium low-rise belted waist looked modern without riding too low. The 32 1/2" inseam gave me plenty of room for my highest heels. In fact when I take these to the tailor to have the waist and seat nipped in, I'm going to have them shortened too.

The Adelle is a great wardrobe staple. Pair it with cardigans, dressy blouses and a chic pair of boots and you'll be super stylish this fall. Just be sure to get the size right. My suggestions:
