With two days to go until Father's Day, a trip to Nordstrom Rack provided me with great gifts. I shared my list with you before I headed to the Union Square Nordstrom Rack to shop for Mr. Momtrends.
I scored! Not only was I able to pick up fashionable items for my husband, I found some amazing fashions for moi! The Nordstrom Rack in Unions Square is very convenient. The open layout makes it easy to find everything I'm looking for. Every trip to Nordstrom Rack is about the hunt. Go in expecting to be surprised.
I started in the accessories area. My first thought was to go with basics--boxers and a new running shirt. They had a tremendous selection of workout gear--lots of Nike and Adidas. This classic running t-shirt would be perfect for his training sessions in Central Park. While these were great picks, I wanted to get something a little snazzier.
With these two items in hand, I would have come in well under $50. I pondered my gift as I wandered over to the women's dress section. They must have gotten in a new delivery from Rachel Roy. They had a rack full of drool-worthy dresses. I found a super printed one in brown marked down well below $200. My shopping bag looked like this:
The large shoe department was close. I spied some great leather wingtips from Allen Edmonds. They were very well-priced (under $200)--I thought about pairing them with some fun socks, but I wanted to make sure the sizing is right. I'll have to stop back in with him on another trip to The Rack. Speaking of shoes. Since I was in the vicinity of shoes, I couldn't resist seeing what they had for women. I spied these Michael Kors sandals that had been reduced to $87. A steal.
But I was feeling like I had to go a little bigger for Mr. Momtrends. I wanted to keep hunting for items with a bit more panache. After I found the amazing dresses, I wanted to make sure I had an equally superb gift. Back to accessories. Nordstrom Rack had a super assortment of sunglasses--many of them under $25. I picked up a snazzy modern aviator from Cole Haan. Nearby, I spotted a dashing blue and white fedora-style summer hat. It was only $19. Together, I put together a great gift for under $50. Well under the budget and much sharper than where I started.
Here's how the gift looks:
And I have to admit, I left with this too:
It's going to be a very good Father's Day!
TIP: When you are ready to purchase, look for any Nordstrom Rack associate in a green shirt. They carry portable transaction stations.
