Looking for a chic and modern way to satisfy your sugar cravings? We headed to the upper east side to visit Lady M Cake Boutique. This super trendy, super sophisticated sweet shop has just about anything to delight your palette. They’ve been featured in tons of a dozen mags and are home to Martha Stewart’s favorite wedding cake—The Mille Crepes. Read on to learn more about our adventure there.

While a little intimidating at first, (the place is very clean and very white- no decorations or kitsch to look at and all the pastries and staff are behind a large glass panel) the staff at Lady M's were all quite friendly and eager to help ascertain what it was I was interested in trying. The choices seemed endless! We finally decided on the Green Tea Mousse Cake…a Lady M and new Momtrends fave. It was smooth and creamy and the green tea flavor wasn't over powering. It was light and delicious- and I didn't feel like I was over indulging.

Although it is on the upper east side, it’s not off the beaten path. It’s nestled on the corner of 78th Street between Madison and Park Avenue. Lady M offers specialty cakes and pastries, as well as gourmet coffees and teas. But if you're concerned with your budget, skip the beverages—they run a bit high. When you go, plan to stay and eat rather than taking it out the door so you can enjoy the atmosphere outside while munching.

Flavored cakes like Banana Mille Feuille, Mimosa, and Pumpkin Nuage sound just as yummy as they look. All the products are lined smoothly on the pristine white counter and are simply yet beautifully adorned. The entire experience is aesthetically pleasing to the mouth and eye. A trip to Lady M would make a special day for you and your child- or a wonderful treat for a celebration. Your kids will love to look at the pretty desserts and then pick one out especially for them. Enjoy!
